It is an honor to lead an organization so deeply committed to the heartbeat of our nation: its workers. Since our inception fifteen years ago, CLASS Nepal has stood as a steadfast advocate for the dignity of labor, the strength of social justice, and the resilience of our democracy.
In a rapidly changing world, the landscape of work in Nepal is evolving. From traditional industries to the emergence of the gig economy, the challenges faced by our workforce are complex. Yet, our resolve remains simple and unwavering: to build a fair, inclusive, and democratic society where every worker’s contribution is recognized, respected, and fairly rewarded.
Our Philosophy: Dialogue and Education
At CLASS Nepal, we believe that the most enduring social transformations are not born from conflict, but from cooperation. By facilitating dialogue between workers, employers, and policymakers, we foster an environment where problems are solved through understanding rather than confrontation. Through our training programs, research initiatives, and policy advocacy, we empower individuals not just to demand their rights, but to understand their responsibilities and become active architects of a more equitable Nepal.

क्लास नेपाल (CLASS Nepal) का अध्यक्षको सन्देश
क्लास नेपालमा यहाँहरूलाई हार्दिक स्वागत छ।
हाम्रो राष्ट्रको मेरुदण्ड—श्रमिकहरूको हक, सामाजिक न्याय र लोकतन्त्रको सुदृढीकरणका लागि समर्पित ‘सेन्टर फर लेबर एन्ड सोसल स्टडीज’ (क्लास नेपाल) को अध्यक्षको रूपमा यहाँहरूसँग जोडिन पाउँदा मलाई अत्यन्तै गर्व लागेको छ। विगत १५ वर्षदेखि क्लास नेपालले श्रमिकको मर्यादा, सामाजिक न्याय र मानव अधिकारको पक्षमा निरन्तर वकालत गर्दै आएको छ।
परिवर्तनशील विश्वमा नेपालको श्रम क्षेत्र पनि नयाँ मोडमा छ। परम्परागत उद्योगदेखि लिएर आजको ‘गिग इकोनोमी’ (Gig Economy) सम्म आइपुग्दा श्रमिकहरूले भोग्नुपर्ने चुनौतीहरू थप जटिल बनेका छन्। तर, हाम्रो उद्देश्य स्पष्ट र अटल छ: एक यस्तो न्यायपूर्ण, समावेशी र लोकतान्त्रिक समाज निर्माण गर्नु, जहाँ प्रत्येक श्रमिकको योगदानको कदर होस् र उनीहरूको श्रमको उचित सम्मान होस्।
हाम्रो दर्शन: संवाद र शिक्षा
हामी विश्वास गर्छौं कि सामाजिक रूपान्तरणको सबैभन्दा शक्तिशाली हतियार भनेको संवाद, सहकार्य र शिक्षा हो। श्रमिक, रोजगारदाता र नीति निर्माताहरूबीच सेतुको काम गर्दै हामी द्वन्द्वको साटो आपसी समझदारीबाट समाधान खोज्ने संस्कृतिको विकास गर्न चाहन्छौं। अनुसन्धान, नीतिगत वकालत र क्षमता अभिवृद्धि कार्यक्रमहरूमार्फत हामी श्रमिकहरूलाई आफ्नो अधिकारबारे सचेत गराउँदै उनीहरूलाई समाज रूपान्तरणको सक्रिय सारथि बनाउन प्रतिबद्ध छौं।
हाम्रो प्रभाव र प्रतिबद्धता
गत १५ वर्षको यात्रामा हजारौ मानिसहरूको जीवनमा सकारात्मक प्रभाव पार्न सक्नु हाम्रो लागि गौरवको विषय हो। श्रम कानुनमा सुधारका लागि प्रमाणमा आधारित नीतिगत सिफारिस होस् वा श्रमिकहरूको अधिकार सुनिश्चित गर्न चलाइएका सचेतना अभियानहरू—हामी दीर्घकालीन प्रभाव पार्ने काममा विश्वास राख्छौं।
हाम्रो परिकल्पना:
• समृद्धिको साझेदारी: राष्ट्रको निर्माणमा पसिना बगाउने श्रमिकहरूले देशको समृद्धिको समान हिस्सा पाउनुपर्छ।
• समानता र समावेशिता: जात, धर्म, लिङ्ग वा पृष्ठभूमिको आधारमा भेदभाव नहुने समाज।
• शान्तिपूर्ण समाधान: हरेक सामाजिक विवादहरू संवाद र सहकार्यबाट समाधान हुने वातावरण।
भविष्यको यात्रा
हामी प्रविधि र श्रमको बदलिँदो सम्बन्ध (जस्तै: एआई र गिग वर्कर्सका चुनौती) जस्ता समसामयिक विषयहरूमा केन्द्रित हुँदै आफ्नो कार्यक्षेत्रलाई अझ फराकिलो बनाउँदै छौं। एउटा न्यायपूर्ण नेपाल निर्माणको यो महाअभियानमा म यहाँहरू सबैलाई हातेमालो गर्न आह्वान गर्दछु।
तपाईं एक श्रमिक, रोजगारदाता, नीति निर्माता वा सामाजिक न्यायका लागि प्रतिबद्ध नागरिक हुनुहुन्छ भने, हामीसँग जोडिनुहोस्। हाम्रो सामूहिक प्रयासबाट नै हामी एक शान्त, प्रगतिशील र लोकतान्त्रिक नेपालको सपना साकार पार्न सक्छौं।
